Recording won't start, or stops

A take needs about a minute of free space at your quality plus a 250 MB reserve, a device that isn't too hot and a camera nothing else is using. The message says which, and whatever was recorded before a stop is saved.

1. "There is less than a minute of free space..." Free some space, or drop Quality from 4K to 1080p, then start again.
2. "This device is too hot to start a take." Let it cool, out of the sun and off the charger if you can, then start again.
3. "The camera is not ready." Close any other app using the camera, then start again.
4. "The last take is still being saved." Wait a moment for it to finish.

When a take ends early

If the device gets hot during a take, it warns you first, then ends and saves the take. It does the same if it runs out of space, if the app leaves the screen, or if another app takes the camera or the microphone. The take is written in two-second pieces, so even a crash leaves a playable file.

If you see "Recording needs the camera and the microphone", tap Open Settings and turn both on for the app. Recording is on iPhone and iPad only.
