Free online teleprompter
Paste your script, press play and read. It runs in this browser tab, needs no sign-up, and sends nothing anywhere: your words never leave your computer.
How to use it
Paste the script, pick a size you can read from where you will stand, and start slower than you think. Keep your eyes on the red marks: that is the line you are reading. Move the reading line up toward the top of the screen if your camera sits above it. Click the prompter or press Space to pause.
For a rig
Behind beam-splitter glass the text reads backwards. Tick the first mirror, put this window on the display under the glass and press Full screen, then run it from the keyboard. If your rig also turns the image upside down, tick the second mirror too. A black background cuts glare on the glass. Rig setup, in full.
What it keeps and sends
Nothing. The script stays in this tab and is gone when you close it. The page makes no request after it loads and stores nothing in your browser. The speed, size, width, reading line and mirror settings sit in the page address, so you can bookmark a setup or send it to whoever runs the rig. The script is never in the address. Right-to-left scripts, such as Hebrew and Arabic, read right to left.
How the speed works
Each step of speed moves a tenth of a line a second, whatever the text size, so speed 4 moves about one line every two and a half seconds. A bigger size or a narrower line shows fewer words a line, so turn the speed up a step when you go large. To match your own pace, take the reading pace test, then check the running time in the script timer.
Reading for real? The app does the rest.
This page is a fair prompter for a quick read. Cutvey Teleprompter adds voice follow that trims the speed to your read on the device, the Apple Watch and pedals as remotes, a second iPhone, iPad or Mac as a remote, monitor or editor, run orders, cues with their own speed, and recording under the lens on iPhone and iPad. $19.99 once for iPhone, iPad and Mac.

The app on iPad: the same reading line, with cues, run orders and voice follow.
