Read under your camera on a call (Mac)
Call mode shrinks the prompter to a strip right under your Mac's built-in camera, so you read while looking at the people on the call. Turn it on from the Window menu or press Shift-Command-K.
- Open a script on the Mac. Start the prompter as usual.
- Turn on call mode. Choose Call mode in the Window menu, or press Shift-Command-K. The prompter becomes a short strip under the camera and floats above other windows.
- Check screen sharing with a test call. Hide from screen sharing is on by default in call mode. In the app's own words, an app that captures the screen in an older way may still show the window, so test before you rely on it.
- Leave call mode. Press Shift-Command-K again and the window goes back where it was.

Also on the Mac
- Keep on top and window opacity (down to 25 percent) for reading over other apps. Full screen pauses both and puts them back afterwards.
- An External Feed window for a second display or a rig.
- A Contour ShuttlePro v2 or ShuttleXpress over USB. The outer ring runs the scroll forward or back while you hold it; let go and the scroll goes back to the speed it was at, from where the ring left it. The inner dial nudges the reading line a line at a time. The Mac asks for Input Monitoring the first time.
If that didn't work
If the strip doesn't sit under the camera, check that the built-in display is the one with the camera on it. Write to us.
