Help / Voice follow
Voice follow isn't keeping up with me
Voice follow trims the speed you set to match how fast you read. It never starts, stops or jumps the script, so if it lags, the fix is usually the base speed, the script's language or the room.
- Check it's on and can hear you. Open the prompter's settings and turn on Voice follow. The first time, your device asks for the microphone and speech recognition: allow both.
- Match the script's language to what you're speaking. Each script has its own language, separate from the app's. A script set to English won't follow a read in Spanish.
- Set the speed close to your natural pace. Voice follow adjusts around the speed you choose. Start it near your reading pace and let it do the fine tuning.
- Get closer to the mic, or quieter. It's built for rehearsals and solo reads. On a loud set, run the scroll by hand or from a remote.
- Check your language is supported on this device. Voice follow only works where Apple provides on-device speech recognition for that language. It isn't available for Slovenian, Lithuanian, Latvian, Estonian, Bulgarian or Farsi.

Things it does on purpose
- If you stop talking, the scroll eases down and waits.
- An aside or a cough leaves the scroll alone.
- Skip more than about four sentences and it won't find you: move the scroll by hand, from a remote or with the Watch, and it picks up from there.
