Facts
Cutvey Teleprompter is a teleprompter app for iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple Watch, made by Cutvey LLC for presenters, creators, corporate and interview shooters and video teams. These facts were checked against version 1.0 of the app on November 2, 2026.
The basics
- Who it's for: anyone reading to a camera or a room. Presenters, hosts, creators, interviews, stand-ups, corporate shoots and rehearsals.
- Price: $19.99, once, through the App Store (Unlock Forever); local prices elsewhere. Free to download, with every feature behind that one purchase. No subscription, no tiers, no free tier, no Family Sharing.
- One purchase covers iPhone, iPad and Mac on the same Apple Account, and the Apple Watch remote comes with the iPhone app.
- Included with Cutvey Solo, Pro, Studio and Enterprise, per seat: 1 seat on Solo, 5 on Pro, 20 on Studio. Each person signs in with their Cutvey email and an emailed code, on up to three devices at once. Crew seats are not included.
- The locked screen offers exactly three paths: Unlock Forever, Sign in with Cutvey and Restore Purchase. It also links the App License Agreement and the Privacy Policy.
- Devices: iPhone and iPad on iOS or iPadOS 17 or later, iPhone Duo included; Mac on macOS 14 or later (a native Mac app); Apple Watch on watchOS 10 or later, which needs the iPhone app.
- App languages: 41.
- App Store: apps.apple.com/app/id6806706586.
What it does
- Imports .docx, .pdf (as plain text), .pptx (speaker notes, a cue per slide), .fdx, .fountain, .rtf and .txt, up to 256 MB a file.
- Continuous, paging and timed scrolling; cues, each of which can carry its own speed; a countdown; estimated clocks (EST. ELAPSED, EST. LEFT, DRIFT).
- Voice follow on iPhone, iPad and Mac: Apple's on-device speech recognition and a word-matching step trim the scroll speed to your read. It never starts, stops or jumps the scroll.
- Rundowns that can move to the next script on their own.
- Quick edit while prompting: stop, fix a word at reading size and return to the same paragraph.
- Mirroring left to right and top to bottom, and a clean feed for an external display with its own mirror setting. The feed shows the same words as the screen in your hand, whatever its size.
- Reading aids: any installed font, OpenDyslexic, size, margins, spacing, colors, a focus band and a reading line you shape and place. Scripts in Hebrew, Arabic and Farsi read right to left.
- Camera recording on iPhone and iPad: 1080p or 4K, 24, 25 or 30 frames a second, saved to Photos.
- Sessions of up to eight devices on your own network, as remote, monitor or editor, paired with a four-digit code. An editor can fix the script live, and Make Host hands the session to another device.
- Remotes: Apple Watch, any browser on the same network, keyboards, pedals and presentation clickers (keys can be changed), media remotes, game controllers (fixed map), and on the Mac a Contour ShuttlePro v2 or ShuttleXpress.
- On the Mac: call mode under the built-in camera, hiding from screen sharing (test it first), keep on top and window opacity.
- After a run: .srt captions timed from the scroll, and cue markers as a Premiere Pro CSV or a DaVinci Resolve EDL.
- iCloud sync of scripts, folders and rundowns in your private iCloud, and a one-file backup of the library.
- Shortcuts actions: open a script in the prompter, create a script, get a script's text.
- On iPhone Duo: closed it is the iPhone prompter, open the iPad layout, and part folded the script sits on the talent's half with the controls on yours.
What it does not do
- There is no AI or machine learning model in the app. Voice follow is Apple's on-device speech recognition plus word matching.
- Voice follow never sends your voice anywhere and records nothing. It works only where Apple provides on-device recognition for the script's language, and not in Slovenian, Lithuanian, Latvian, Estonian, Bulgarian or Farsi.
- Captions are not transcribed from speech.
- No camera recording on the Mac or the Watch.
- The Watch app doesn't work without the iPhone, and drives a Mac or iPad only through an iPhone in the session.
- No Android or Windows app. A browser can be a remote only.
- No Siri phrases, no Keynote or Google Docs import, no reading of scanned PDFs, no remapping of game controllers.
Privacy
- The app does not send scripts to Cutvey. iCloud sync uses your own private iCloud.
- Sessions run between your devices on your own network and never pass through a Cutvey server. The link is plain, so pair only devices you trust, on a network you trust.
- Crash and usage reports are asked for on the first screen. They carry the app version, system, device model, country, day, session lengths, fixed event names and crash details, never an account identifier, your scripts, recordings or voice. Your data is never sold.
