Headphone buttons and shutter remotes

Turn on Use a media remote and anything that can start music, such as a camera shutter release, a Bluetooth media clicker or the button on your headphones, drives the script. It's off by default because audio on the device pauses while it's on.

  1. Turn it on. In Settings, open Media remotes and turn on Use a media remote. It's also under Controls on the prompter.
  2. Use the five buttons. Play or pause starts and stops. Next track and Previous track go to the next and previous cue. Hold forward and Hold back jump the speed up and down.
  3. Change them, if you like. Each row is a menu of commands, or Nothing. Restore the shipped buttons puts them back.

To hear these buttons the app becomes what the device thinks is playing while a prompter is open, so audio playing on the device pauses and its remote drives the script instead, until you close the prompter. A separate Play button only starts and a separate Pause button only stops. On a joined device, media remotes are not offered: they belong on the device that's prompting.
